Description: British WWI Pattern 1907 Wilkinson Sword Bayonet. The British loved adding stamps to all their Military items, from inspection marks and classifications. This straight crossguard was introduced in 1918 and developed to fit on the Enfield Rifle. (SMLE) The dual fullered steel blade measures 17" with an overall length of 21 3/4". The release button is strong and smooth with two screws holding the Walnut grip firmly to the handle. Overall condition is excellent and does not appear to have been reconditioned. Typical 100 year old aging to the steel blade and parts with minor surface oxidation but some original finish is present. The blades edge is damage free and does not appear to have been sharpened once leaving the factory. A great piece to add to your collection with Wilkinson becoming harder to find.
