Description: Rare Vintage Roots Sporting Goods Aztec Vest w/ Buffalo Nickel Buttons 1/1 (S). This is a rare 1/1 (one-of-a-kind) Roots Sporting Goods vest with an Aztec design. Each Aztec design is different & 100% unique to the piece. However, I cannot find any similar Aztec vests when searching for vintage Roots items online. During my research, I did happen to find similar vests with buffalo nickel buttons, made by Roots; however, those were plain leather vests or plain suede vests. Those particular vests (with the buffalo nickel buttons), sell for between $80-$200 USD. This is a much rarer version - as Aztec style coats & vests by similar companies such as Pendleton sell for between $200-$500 & sometimes more. Naturally, I assume this is a men’s small. However, the piece does seem very unisex in its style/look. Measurements available (see attached photographs for details). To help date the piece; Roots Sporting Goods was formed in 1992 (I believe). So, the piece would be from sometime in the mid-late 1990s. 100% Wool.
