Description: VTG MCM 70's Japanese ELM Valet Butler Chair High back Antique STYLE Hand Pegged Ships fast and safe. Brought here to USA from Japan by a Japanese citizen. It was Uncle's favorite chair so much he transported it to USA from Japan. It looks like a valet butler chair so we presume it is for that. A very special chair that has been paint decorated around he crest at some point. We think it is Elm tree wood. Grains are centered on the seat and backing, great attention to details. A very thoughtful piece. There is some minimal spacing in the seat to back where the hand pegging is but the chair is sturdy and will last forever once set upon the wall, there is a back rest piece for stability against a wall (presumably to safeguard the chair and user from the movements of dressing). 45" T x 20.75" D x 17.5" WSeat: 16" T x 17.5" W x 16.5" D
